PUP CARE 101 – HOW TO KEEP YOUR PUPPY IMMUNE AND HAPPY

Bringing home a puppy is a wonderful and exciting experience, but maintaining its immunity is necessary for a healthy and happy pup. We have curated a list of ways to help you take care of your bud.

  • Expect the unexpected

You can’t get a puppy and expect him to make the right choices without guiding him. They only know what we teach them. Hence, you need to be prepared as proud pup parents for any circumstances. Whether it is to clean up the mess, get up in the middle of the night to let them out, or deal with their behavioral issues.

  • Feed them the right nutrition

A puppy’s nutritional need is very different from an adult dog’s. Moreover, puppies tend to play with their food, so you need to observe them and guide them. The number of meals a day depends on your pup's age:

2 to 3 months old: 4 meals a day
3 to 6 months: 3 meals a day
6 to 12 months (up to 24 months for the largest breeds): 2 meals a day.

  • Don’t forget to crate train

As a puppy parent, you must be responsible and take a few steps to ensure that they mature into well-behaved dogs. Try to make your training as positive and fun as possible. The sooner they will get comfortable with the crate, the easier the task will be.

  • Be patient

Your pup might not understand or listen to you even after you repeat or enact the same thing for five, six or ten times. Losing patience and scolding your little one should not be an option. Keep calm and handle your pup with great patience and maturity.

  • Practice safety first

Amongst numerous safety measures, an important one is to teach your dog to stay inside the house until you ask or allow him to step out. This will help your puppy to remain safe.

  • Head to the dog training center

Visit your nearby dog training center as this will be a source of joy for your puppy and will also help in maintaining his fitness. He will get to socialize, exercise and learn new tricks which is a fun activity for both, the owner as well as the pet.
