Veterinary clinics in Ahmedabad
Seventeen clinics and hospitals across Ahmedabad, each with the date it was last checked. Three publish 24-hour opening. Twenty-three records were thrown out, most of them charities whose own words say they treat street animals rather than owned pets, and the page explains that distinction rather than leaving you to discover it on arrival.
Quick answer
Ahmedabad's private veterinary clinics cluster in two places: Ambawadi and Paldi in the west, around the Panjrapole and Nehru Nagar crossroads, and Maninagar in the east. Three of the seventeen listed here publish 24-hour opening. The city also has a large charitable animal-hospital sector, most of which treats stray animals rather than owned pets, and this page separates the two. Bonbeno verifies that a clinic exists and what it states about itself, and does not assess clinical quality.
Call before you travel, and know that Ahmedabad is thin on out-of-hours cover. Three listings publish 24-hour opening: Caring Paws Veterinary Clinic and Happy Tails, both at Ambawadi near the Panjrapole crossroads, and Caring Paws Home Veterinary Service, which is a home-visit practice rather than a place to drive to. Everything else on this page closes in the evening and several run split morning and evening sessions with a long closed afternoon. Published hours are a snapshot and a clinic that is open may still have no vet on site at 3am. Treat collapse, laboured breathing, a distended or hard abdomen, seizures, suspected poisoning, inability to urinate and heat stroke as immediate.
This page is a directory, not veterinary advice. Nothing here describes what is wrong with your animal or what to do about it. If your pet is unwell, call a vet and describe the symptoms rather than acting on anything written here, and in an emergency go to the nearest clinic that is open rather than the nearest one on this list.
Ahmedabad is the hardest city in this directory to list honestly, and the reason is worth understanding before you use the page. Gujarat's Jain panjrapole tradition has built a large and genuinely impressive charitable animal-hospital sector here, and it dominates the search results: the single biggest listing the crawl returned was Jivdaya Charitable Trust with 3,078 reviews, two hospitals and three mobile clinic vans. But Jivdaya's own description says it treats stray, abandoned and injured animals free of charge, and the same is true of several others. Turning up at one of them with a pet you own is not what they are for. So this page separates the two and says which is which. The seventeen clinics listed below are places a pet owner can take an animal, and three of them are charitable hospitals whose listings describe ordinary clinical work. The private sector is small and concentrated: Ambawadi and Paldi in the west, around the Panjrapole and Nehru Nagar crossroads, and Maninagar and Khokhra in the east, with Vasna, Rakhial, Asarwa and Behrampura filling in. Three publish 24-hour opening. Twenty-three records were excluded, which the method section sets out in full.
What verified means here
- Verified means
- the clinic exists, and its address, phone, stated hours and stated services match what the clinic itself publishes.
- Verified does not mean assessed
- Bonbeno does not evaluate clinical quality, outcomes or standard of care. A listing is not a recommendation and neither group below is a ranking.
- Verified is dated
- every row carries the day it was last checked. Clinics move, change hours and close.
- Ratings are Google's, not ours
- a rating is always shown with its review count and its source, because a 5.0 from 23 reviews and a 3.8 from 4,024 are not comparable numbers.
Clinics in Ahmedabad
Grouped by whether the clinic publishes 24-hour opening, which comes from its own hours and not from us. Inside each group the order is the source's own and neither group is a ranking. Call ahead before you travel, and do not rely on published hours in an emergency.

How this list was built
Every row comes from a Google Business Profile pull on 16 October 2026 across three search terms, then filtered. Only forty records came back, the smallest return of any city in this directory, and seventeen are published. Twenty-three were dropped. Seven were shelters, animal-protection bodies, a pet shop and an aquarium shop. Six were not veterinary at all: a human multispeciality hospital, a municipal general hospital, a nuclear medicine department, a doctor's rooms, a pharmaceutical manufacturer and a Jain charity. Three were out of scope by subject: a bird rescue, a bovine-health manufacturer and a human PET-CT scan unit, whose name the veterinary-word filter would otherwise have read as a companion animal. One was a veterinary feed-supplement company and one published no phone, no website and no hours. Five more were dropped by hand, and they are the ones that matter. Four are charities whose own descriptions say their animal work is for strays, including the 3,078-review Jivdaya Charitable Trust; the fifth shares a telephone number and a road with another listing, so the two are one operation. The 24-hour flag is set only from a clinic's own published hours, never from Google's emergency category, which sits on two Ahmedabad clinics that are not open round the clock. Services are what the clinic says it offers and ten clinics publish no usable description. Ratings are Google's, shown with their review count. No individual veterinarian is named, because registration under the Indian Veterinary Council Act, 1984 could not be checked against the Veterinary Council of India or the Gujarat State Veterinary Council for any of them, and several listings do name their vet.Common questions
Which vets in Ahmedabad are open 24 hours?
Three listings publish round-the-clock opening: Caring Paws Veterinary Clinic & Surgical Centre and Happy Tails Pets And Exotics Clinic, both at Ambawadi, and Caring Paws Home Veterinary Service, which visits you rather than the other way round. The flag comes only from each clinic's own published hours. Call first, and if you are in the east of the city work out the journey to Ambawadi before you need it.
Why is Jivdaya Charitable Trust not on this list?
Because its own description says what it does: "Our organization treats stray, abandoned injured and diseased animals and birds for free." Jivdaya is the largest animal hospital the search returned, with 3,078 reviews, two hospitals and three mobile clinic vans, and it does important work. It is a rescue hospital, not a clinic for a pet you own, and sending you there with a sick dog would waste a journey. The same applies to three other charities dropped from this page.
Is there a low-cost or charitable vet in Ahmedabad for my own pet?
Three charitable listings on this page read as ordinary clinical practices rather than stray rescue, and are marked as charities in the list: the SPCA hospital at Paldi, Kalyan Jivashray Foundation at Paldi and Shree Danev Foundation at Behrampura. There is also a government veterinary hospital at Premdarwaja in the old city, open 9 AM to 12 PM and closed Sunday, which publishes no telephone number.
Does Bonbeno check whether these vets are any good?
No. We check that a clinic exists and that its address, phone, stated hours and stated services match what the clinic itself publishes, and we date that check. We do not assess clinical competence, outcomes or standard of care, and nothing here is a recommendation of one clinic over another.
Why are there only seventeen clinics?
Because that is what the search found that a pet owner can actually use. Forty records came back, the smallest return of any city in this directory, and more than half were charities, shelters, shops or human medicine. Ahmedabad's private small-animal sector is genuinely small relative to Pune's fifty-seven or Bengaluru's fifty-five, and the honest page says so rather than padding the list.
