India's pet encyclopedia
Everything Indian pet owners actually need to know
Breed guides written for Indian conditions, with real price ranges, heat tolerance ratings and a cited source behind every figure. Independent, and not selling you anything.

Quick answer
Bonbeno is an independent dog and cat encyclopedia for India. Every breed guide carries verified price ranges compared across sources, a heat tolerance rating for Indian conditions, veterinary review, and a cited source for every figure. We do not sell pet food, products or animals.
Start with a group, not a list
Most people arrive knowing roughly what they want, a small dog, one that copes with the heat, an Indian breed. Each group below compares its breeds on the same figures, so you can shortlist before reading a single full guide. Every guide covers price in India, heat tolerance, temperament, health risks and adoption routes, with sources you can check.

What makes these guides different
Most breed pages aimed at Indian buyers are rewritten from American sources and quote a single price with no method behind it. Bonbeno does four things those pages do not.
- We show where sources disagree. Published Golden Retriever prices in India vary by more than Rs 90,000 for the same city. We publish the comparison rather than picking one number and presenting it as fact.
- We rate heat tolerance. No global breed site does, and in India it is the single most decision-relevant trait. A Golden Retriever rates 2 out of 5. The Indian Pariah Dog rates 5.
- We cite everything. One cited source per 200 words, minimum, linking to kennel club standards and peer-reviewed veterinary literature rather than to other blogs.
- We cover Indian breeds properly. The Rajapalayam, Kombai and Mudhol Hound get the same depth as imports, because no international site can write them and Indian owners deserve better than a paragraph.

Where to start
Common questions
Is Bonbeno independent?
Yes. Bonbeno does not sell pet food, products or animals, and does not broker puppy sales. Organic rankings are earned on verified data. Any paid placement is clearly labelled as Sponsored or Featured Partner and is never mixed silently into a merit ranking.
Who writes and reviews the content?
Guides are written by the Bonbeno editorial team and health content is reviewed by a registered veterinarian. Every factual claim carries a citation to a primary or authority source, and where reliable data does not exist we say so rather than estimating.
Why does Bonbeno recommend adoption so often?
Because the arithmetic supports it. Indian Pariah Dogs live 12 to 16 years, carry far fewer inherited genetic disorders than imported breeds, handle Indian heat by default and are usually free to adopt. We earn nothing from that recommendation.
